Exams start next week for us here at SUMC, and yes I know that Suffolk Boston is already done for the year. But we started a week later so I guess it evens out.

My two biggest exams are on Monday, both IB and Accounting so I am happy I will be able to get it over with fast. I woke up very early yesterday (there was no school due to reading day) but the school was open anways so I was able to bang out my astronomy projects with ease.

Congrats on graduating seniors for finishing school, I'm only 2 years away from that.

Last 2 Weeks of Class

Unfortunately, even though Suffolk Boston has there last week of classes this week, at SUMC we have another 2 weeks left before exams and it's hard to gain motivation. And listening to Nine Inch Nails - Every Day Is Exactly The Same is no help either. It is 830 AM and I'm contemplating going to my Business Law and Ethics class. Much of it will come down to if whoever has been in the shower for 30 minutes comes out before it is too late for me to walk to school.

On a positive note, I found this interesting article on how to escape the trunk of a car

added link, sorry!

Blogger Widget

I needed more motivation to post to my blog. The biggest reason I haven't posted is because it takes too many clicks to make a post (yes I am that lazy at times)

Luckily I discovered this little widget for the Mac and it allows me to post from my widget dashboard. It is very easy and useful.

For those who don't know how to access your dashboard, just press F12.

Here's the link to the download as well as a link on how to use it.

Another Real Madrid Game

Got to go see Real Madrid vs Valladolid yesterday and despite being in the nosebleeds, the seats were very good and a bargain at €25. The game ended 2-0 for Real Madrid.

It has been a while...

So I know there are some of you that have complained to me about not updating in about a month or so. However, I am now listening to the Rocky Theme so I am feeling very motivated to write and share with you this month's past experiences.

First and foremost, yes I changed my layout again, just to keep things fresh and I get bored easily.

Secondly, even though it was in February, I did go to Lisbon, Portugal for a weekend since it was a very cheap flight (€90 round trip) and it was a country I had not seen yet. The city of Lisbon was very beautiful and the hostel we stayed at was one of the cleanest and friendliest hostels I've been to, Lisboa Central Hostel. It was very close to the major sites and the front desk was very helpful in assisting us around Lisbon.

This is me in front of the port where Columbus set sailed for America.

The next big thing I got to experience was the Astronomy Trip to Mt. Teide in the Canary Islands.

We were on the island of Tenerife near the western coast of Africa. The islands was beautiful however during the night we were 13,000 meters above sea level in near freezing temperatures, awake from 8 PM to 8 AM trying to observe the night sky. Unfortunately, due to a high level of humidity, we were only able to use the huge telescope for one night, however we did get a wonderful close up shot of Saturn and two of her satellites. In addition, my friend Bob and I were able to use a Digital SLR camera to capture night sky pictures of the Galactic Center which came out amazing.

The morning after the first day of observing, despite being very tired, we embarked on an epic climb up Mt. Teide, the highest point in Spain, and the highest point in Europe not including the Alps.

After 4 nights of long nights and minimal amounts of sleep I ended up falling asleep outside of the observatory.

However, there was a fantastic reward of all the hard work in the form of a beach day.

My most recent experience was Barcelona for Spring Break which was amazingly beautiful, but I still prefer Madrid. I highly recommend taking the city bus tour because it's hop on and hop off at many destinations and is really worth the €22. I was fortunate enough to have beautiful weather for the weekend and escape the rain that would come the following day.

That is it for now. Next week I will be in Rome and the following San Sebastian and I will be sure to update accordingly.

Cheap Flights

One of the benefits of being in Europe is that flights to other countries is ridiculously cheap. A round trip from Madrid to Paris is less than 100 Euros. Amazing. So in case there are any foreign readers or if anyone is going to Europe soon, this site is fantastic to look for cheap flights.

iTunes

My library is getting really old and I'm finding remnants of "bad" music that I have downloaded for my friends. And what annoys me is that when I skip to a new song, the highlighter doesn't follow it so I have to click it and then delete it. Pain in the butt.

Also, I recommend downloading FoxyTunes if you use Firefox. It allows you to control your music from your browser as well as insert cool signatures such as the one of I have on the bottom of the song you are listening to.
